Aaron Rodgers‘ season got cut short due to an Achilles tear he suffered during the first game of the season. He joined the New York Jets after spending 18 seasons with the Green Bay Packers. The Packers handed the quarterbacking duties to Jordan Love after Rodgers’ departure. Love has had an impressive start to the season.
Love led the Packers to a win over rivals Chicago Bears in their week 1 matchup. It was the ninth consecutive win for the Packers over their arch-rivals. Rodgers won a few of those, and he knows the significance of beating the Bears. He recently appeared on the Pat McAfee Show and talked about Love’s start to the season and also revealed the 7-word text he sent Love after the Packers’ win over the Bears.
“I said congratulations on keeping the ownership in place,” Rodgers said on the show. “That was pretty awesome for him.” Rodgers had declared ownership of the Bears during a 2021 matchup at Soldier Field. He repeatedly said, “I own you,” after scoring a running touchdown. Rodgers’ departure did not change the Chicago-based team’s fortunes as Love torched the Bears for 245 yards and three touchdowns.
Although the Packers lost their next game against the Atlanta Falcons, Jordan Love has shown promise. He has 396 passing yards and six touchdowns with zero interceptions through two games with a passer rating of 118.8. The Packers’ next game is against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.

Aaron Rodgers talks about his recovery from Achilles injury
Aaron Rodgers’s season ended abruptly in the New York Jets‘ first game of the season as he tore his Achilles after only four snaps. He has been nursing the injury since then. Rodgers talked about his recovery on the Pat McAfee Show.

“Trying to get out of the boot is kind of the next goal so I feel the strength to be able to stand up on my own,” Rodgers said on the show. “Then the boot comes off and then it kind of gets exciting. I think then you feel like you’re not just a big turd laying around, everybody taking care of you. So that’ll be nice.”
Backup QB Zach Wilson replaced Rodgers. The Jets pulled off an impressive win over the Buffalo Bills in their first game of the season. Wilson, a former second-overall pick, played well against the Bills. The Jets, however, were soundly beaten by the Dallas Cowboys in their next game. They will now play the New England Patriots in their next game on Sunday.
