The Houston Texans are preparing to take on the New York Jets this week. They have been one of the most surprising teams of the season. Not a lot of people gave the Texans a chance to have a good season, however, the Houston-based team and their rookie QB C.J. Stroud have been fantastic so far. They are 7-5 through 12 games and are one of the contenders for the Wild Card spot in the AFC.

Stroud has been a major reason for the Texans’ success this season. The rookie was selected second overall in this year’s NFL Draft and since then, has carried the Texans to a winning record. He will now take on the Jets at the MetLife Stadium. Prior to the game, Stroud was seen practising with a basketball instead of a football.

In a video posted by the NFL on its official Twitter account, Stroud can be seen throwing a basketball instead of a football during practice. He sported a Tank Dell shirt and had a beanie on his head. The rookie QB used to play basketball back in high school before turning his full attention to football. Since taking up football, Stroud has been great at the sport and has the Texans fans believing in the team.

Stroud so far this season has thrown for 3,540 yards and 20 touchdowns along with just 5 interceptions. He has completed 63.4 percent of his passes and has a rating of 101.2. He is a frontrunner for the Offensive Rookie of the Year award this season.

Kyle Long bizarrely compares C.J. Stroud with Taylor Swift

Former Chicago Bears lineman Kyle Long recently claimed that Houston Texans’ QB C.J. Stroud is ”his Taylor Swift“ while choosing him as his player of the year. While talking on CBS Sports‘ ‘The Other Pregame Show,’ a few hours before the Texans’ game against the New York Jets, Long picked Stroud for the TOPS Player of the Year award this season.

Stroud has had a fantastic season so far and the Texans are in playoff contention mainly because of his performances. He is the favorite to win the Offensive Rookie of the Year award and is in the MVP conversations as well.
