In an attempt to save the salary cap, the Buffalo Bills have released six veteran players. Among those, Jordan Poyer is one. The three-times all-pro safety has been a continuous performer for the Buffalo Bills as the team has played in the postseason continuously over the years. However, the harsh reality of the salary cap structure has compelled the Bills to remove the player from their roster.

Right after the news went viral, Rachel Bush, the wife of the Bills safety, hailed him on social media. She seemed emotional as the Bills decided to end the relationship with Poyer after seven years. In her Instagram story, Bush shared some of the iconic moments of his husband with his former teammates. Some pictures depicted how the Bills players celebrated with Poyer. She added inspirational captions with those pictures. Coining him with the word ‘leader,’ Bush did not hide her emotions to reveal how Poyer helped the Bills to add dynamism over the years.

I don't have the words yet but they are coming (along with so many photo memories). Right now I just want my husband to know what a leader and inspiration he is. The impact he made will always be remembered. Both within the football world and outside as well. You went into Buffalo and gave that city something they were longing for: Changed the culture. You're special my love and what you have done is such an accomplishment. A true game changer!!

The safety started his career with the Philadelphia Eagles. However, he had a very short stint at the Eagles. After a few weeks, he was signed by the Cleveland Browns. In 2017, he signed with the Bills. Since then, he has contributed significantly to the team’s success. Nevertheless, the journey has come to an end.

Jordan Poyer leaves behind a legacy at the Bills

In his seven years, Power did a very commendable job with the Bills. He was the leader of the squad for four years. The safety registered 682 tackles, 22 interceptions, and 11 sacks. In addition, he defended 48 passes and launched 35 tackles for loss. For his contribution to the team, he got his First-Team-All-Pro selection in 2021. Next year, he achieved a Pro Bowl selection.

The Saftey signed a contract extension for two years in 2023. He signed a $12.5 million deal with a signing bonus of $4 million. Despite that, the Bills have had to ask him to leave to meet the cap structure.
