Looks like more people are enjoying the San Francisco 49ers’ loss than there are for the Kansas City Chiefs’ victory at the Super Bowl. Another name was added to the list when the Niners’ fans were trolled by Los Angeles RamsAaron Donald.

Although the Niners overpowered the Rams in the regular season as being the top-seeded team in the NFC, they lack the biggest trophy– the Super Bowl in the last three decades. As the Rams won the Super Bowl trophy in 2022 but the 49ers haven’t since 1994.

After the 49ers’ tragic loss, the Rams star pass rusher felt like he needed to remind them what the Super Bowl ring looks like. That’s why, he flaunted his shinning ring highlighting the fact that the 49ers remained without any in the era of head coach Kyle Shanahan, on his Instagram story.

The picture that the elite pass rusher shared is from the ring ceremony of the Rams two years ago. Although Donald didn’t write any captions, it seemed quite evident whom it was meant for. The Rams’ defensive lineman isn’t one to trash-talk anyone publicly, given he has not done it but he sure knows how to strike back at his rivals subtly as he did on Monday.

Is Aaron Donald retiring after the 2024 NFL season?

When Donald was initially asked about his retirement scenario after the Rams’ 5-12 season following the Super Bowl victory, he stated he couldn’t retire after such a disastrous season. This season, in 2023, the Rams went 10-7 with a playoff berth but couldn’t proceed further than the wild card round.

After the Rams’ elimination from the playoffs, head coach Sean McVay was asked about Donald’s future with the team, he cleared that nothing can be said for sure as the season has just ended for them. He added:

We’ll address all those things at the right time.

As for his contract, the defensive tackle is set to make $35 million in 2024, in which $5 million is guaranteed while the remaining $30 million would be confirmed after the March 17– 2024 offseason. There are many case scenarios as he may retire or he may be traded or may go into free agency after one last season with the Rams. Until Donald makes any statement regarding this, nothing can be said for sure.
