“This is getting to be a reoccurring theme!” – Rams fans utterly disappointed with Cooper Kupp’s latest injury as he’s unlikely to start in week 1 due to a hamstring issue

The Rams will focus on Kupp's day to day recovery and wait until he is 100%.

2023 has not been kind to Cooper Kupp. The Los Angeles Rams wide receiver recently returned from a long-term injury on August 1 and is set to spend more time on the sidelines after suffering a hamstring injury.

The Super Bowl winner missed their preseason games, and his rehab was going smoothly. But this new setback has created doubt in the Rams camp about whether Cupp will be available for Week 1 against the Seahawks. Head coach Sean McVay addressed the unfortunate situation.

“We just take it a day at a time right now,” he said, as per ESPN. “We want to be able to get him back, right.”

He added that the Rams play better when Cupp is healthy and running up and down the sides. So they need the Pro Bowler at 100% if they wish to utilize him to the fullest. “We want return to performance for Cooper Kupp,” McVay added. “He is a special player. So we want to make sure [we get him back] to feeling like the Cooper Kupp we all know.”

It seems Rams fans aren’t too thrilled with Kupp getting injured so frequently. They pointed out that the coaching staff needs to let the injured players recover completely before sending them out on the pitch.

The Los Angeles Rams will miss Cooper Kupp

To say that the Rams are a great team with the 30-year-old at their disposal week in and week out is an understatement. Kupp has amassed more than 6,000 yards and 46 touchdowns across his six seasons in the NFL. 2021 was undoubtedly his best year. In 17 matches, he had 145 receptions for 1947 yards and scored 16 touchdowns on the way to lifting the Lombardi Trophy.

However, Kupp’s output took a nosedive the following season. He only had 812 yards and six touchdowns in 2022. But one must not forget that the Jerry Rice Award winner achieved that in a Rams offense that was dead last year. Kupp also played only eight games in total, which shows that if he were to play in a better attack, he might have put up similar or even better numbers.

Kupp’s absence means Van Jefferson, Tutu Atwell, and rookie Puka Nacua or Ben Skowronek will get more chances to prove themselves. Nevertheless, they will miss him.
