It’s safe to say that Stetson Bennett has found the transition from college to the NFL hard. In his two outings for the Los Angeles Rams, the 25-year-old appeared to be shaky and tensed while attempting throws.
The former Georgia Bulldogs quarterback looked more or less the same against the Las Vegas Raiders on Saturday night. Bennett managed to connect on 15 of his 24 passing attempts, amassing 142 yards while also throwing one interception.
Adding to the challenge, Bennett threw a pivotal interception during the second quarter. While aiming to find a teammate in the right field, he released a pass. Unfortunately, Raiders’ rookie safety Isaiah Pola-Mao effortlessly intercepted the pass and sprinted down the field for a touchdown.
Fans ridicule Stetson Bennett for his awful performance against the Raiders

Following their 34-17 victory over the Los Angeles Rams, the Las Vegas Raiders have notched more than 30 points in consecutive games. However, a portion of the responsibility for last night’s defeat falls on Stetson Bennett due to his underwhelming performance throughout the match. As expected, football enthusiasts didn’t hold back in expressing their criticism of the Georgia native’s showing.
Bennett was selected as their fourth-round pick this year by the Rams. He set the college game on fire with two consecutive CFP national championships. The 2022 Manning Award winner is touted as one of the better quarterbacks to be inducted this year.
In his first game against the San Francisco 49ers, Bennett proved that he can go toe-to-toe with the big boys. He only completed 58% of his passes out of 29 attempts. However, those were quality throws. He led both teams in passing yards (191) and scored one touchdown without interceptions.
But it was no different against the Raiders on Saturday. The Las Vegas franchise cruised to a 20-point lead in the first half and always looked in control of the game. Jimmy Garappollo started the game for the first time.
Bennett tried to mount a comeback. He threw five successful passes for 47 yards before scoring a four-yard rushing touchdown. It ended up being his final play of the day, as Sean McVay replaced him.
After the game ended, Stetson Bennett talked about his interception. “That was completely my fault,” he said. “I thought that he was going to run a different route.” He will have another opportunity to prove the doubters wrong when they face the Denver Broncos on August 27.
