Veteran linebacker Bobby Wagner had a homecoming a few days back when he re-signed with the Seattle Seahawks for a one-year $7 million contract. Wagner played for the Seahawks for the first decade of his career and moved on to the Los Angeles Rams in 2022. However, after just one season with them, the star linebacker and the team mutually agreed to part ways.

Bobby Wagner was a team caption of the infamous Legion of Doom that put the fear of god in every team back in the 2010s and helped the Seahawks make back-to-back Super Bowls and win one Lombardi Trophy. The 32-year-old left the Rams were the best option for him to win another World Championship but the defending Super Bowl winners weren’t the same in the 2022 season.

Now, Wagner will be back with his old team which definitely won’t be a good thing for the Rams since both teams have a long-standing rivalry in the NFC West. Rams star wide receiver Cooper Kupp was elated when the team announced they were signing Bobby Wagner to the team which meant he won’t have to face the linebacker. Kupp shared his happiness on Twitter back in 2022 with a simple message: “Let’s go!! Don’t have to play against @Bwagz anymore!!!!”

Looks like Cooper Kupp’s excitement last all of one year because now he will once again have to face the feared linebacker on the opposite side of the scrimmage line. Kupp and the Rams will now have to face Wagner with the Seahawks twice a year with each hosting one game. The irony hadn’t been lost on Cooper Kupp as he retweeted his old tweet with the caption: “WELP!”

Cooper Kupp had the most magical season any wide receiver has ever had in the history of the league during the Rams’ Super Bowl run. The 29-year-old wideout won the receiving triple crown – led the NFL in receptions (145), receiving yards (1,947), and receiving touchdowns (16). Along with this, Kupp also won the Offensive Rookie of the Year and Super Bowl LVI MVP. The only other player in NFL history to win all these accolades is 49ers great Jerry Rice who achieved it over the course of his 20-year legendary career. Kupp did it all in one season!

Unfortunately, Kupp couldn’t carry forward his magic in 2022 as his season was cut short due to a high ankle sprain that required surgery. The superstar receiver is looking for another breakout season like he had two years back. Quarterback Matthew Stafford also played only a portion of last season as he too suffered an injury effectively ending his season.

Looks like the deadly QB-WR duo needs to have another great run in the coming season so that people don’t doubt what they created in 2021 as merely a fluke or a stroke of luck!
