Although the Kansas City Chiefs won their Divisional Round matchup against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, the Bills’ QB Josh Allen played a tremendous game. The former first round pick was on song from the get go, but failed to lead the Bills to a win. His counterpart on the other side of the field, Patrick Mahomes also had a great game and led his team to yet another AFC Championship appearance.

The Chiefs trailed by four points by the end of the first half, but came out swinging as they scored on their very first offensive drive to begin the third period. That set the tone for an interesting second half that saw multiple lead changes. However, it was the Chiefs that eventually won the game, 27-24. After the game, Chiefs’ WR Rashee Rice took a subtle dig at Allen while talking about the win.

What would you think about that? He's better than Josh.
Rice said during the postgame interview.

Although it might come across as pompous, the rookie receiver has evidence to back his claim.

In addition to their 3-0 playoff head-to-head record, Mahomes’ resume includes a lot of things that Allen’s does not. Three AFC championships, two Super Bowls, two MVPs from the Super Bowl, two MVPs from the regular season, and an Offensive Player of the Year are among them.

Mahomes finished the game with 215 yards and two touchdowns, whereas Allen racked up 258 total yards and 3 touchdowns. The Chiefs will face the Baltimore Ravens in their AFC Championship game next Sunday.

Josh Allen distraught after the Bills’ heartbreaking loss to the Chiefs in the Divisional Round

This was supposed to the Buffalo Bills’ year. After a slow 6-6 start to the season, they caught fire and won their next six games enroute to a Divisional Round matchup against their nemesis, the Kansas City Chiefs. However, this time, the Bills were at home and were favored to win against a vulnerable Chiefs side on Sunday.

That did not happen as the Chiefs edged out the Bills in a close 27-24 victory in Buffalo to punch their sixth consecutive AFC Championship ticket. Josh Allen, the Bills’ QB, summed up his feelings perfectly after the game.

It sucks. Losing sucks. Losing to them, losing to anybody at home sucks. Here, there, it doesn’t matter. Losing sucks. I don’t know what else to say.
Allen said.

The two-time Pro-Bowler finished the campaign with 4,306 yards, 29 touchdowns and 18 interceptions. He also set a NFL record this season with most rushing touchdowns by a quarterback with 15. It was a heartbreaking loss for the Bills, but they can still compete for a Super Bowl, as long as they have the mercurial talent of Josh Allen.
