“The HEAVIEST player in the league”- Ravens draft 384-pound Daniel Faalele

Baltimore has a heavy offensive line, quite literally. The team drafted offensive tackle Daniel Faalele with the 110th pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, the OT weighed in at 384 pounds or a whopping 175 KG at the scouting combine. He is 6-foot-8 in height.

Daniel Faalele already holds a record in the league without having played a single game, he is the heaviest player in the NFL, a record that was previously held by Patriots OT Trent Brown who weighs nearly 380 pounds. As a matter of fact, Brown’s weight is a matter of concern to his team as well which is why his contract includes financial incentives if he manages to cut down to 365 pounds or lesser. Brown will be the recipient of weekly bonuses if he meets this criterion.

Daniel Faalele was born and bought up in Australia, he loved to play basketball and rugby as a teenager. He was spotted by an American Football coach who saw potential in him and suggested he take up the sport. Faalele followed his advice and attended IMG Academy in Florida, played a year of high school football, and then committed to Minnesota, where he became an All-Big Ten OT.

In his final college game, Daniel lined up at the running back position for a touchdown setting himself up for the record for heaviest TD scored as well. We all know this will not be possible in the NFL, however, the Ravens believe that Faalele could have a significant impact on their run blocking.
