“Typical Chiefs bailout”- Social media bashes the referees after failing to penalize Chiefs for grabbing Tyreek Hill’s helmet
This missed holding call on Tyreek Hill by the referees is downright outrageous.

The Week 9 matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Miami Dolphins is already living up to the hype. With both teams currently 6-2 this season, they are fighting to avoid suffering a third loss. Not to mention, Tyreek Hill is on the other side of the ball this time for the Chiefs and the team is attempting to pull every string to ensure the wideout does not get warmed up and are shutting him down.
One of the tactics adopted by the Chiefs’ defense appears to be to get into Tyreek Hill‘s head by purposely holding onto his helmet as soon as the ball snaps. On this particular play, L’Jarius Sneed, the cornerback on the Chiefs, did not hesitate to shove his hand in the wideout’s face and grab the grills of his helmet.
Here’s where it gets more infuriating. The referees failed to take cognizance of this and there was no flag thrown on the play. It was a clear case of holding and just one look at the play makes it evident that the defensive back was all up in Hill’s face.
Tyreek Hill managed to complete the play despite having a hand in his face
Fans could not believe that the refereeing has gotten to this level where such an obvious call was missed. The only positive aspect of this situation is that despite Sneed’s attempt to slow Hill down with this move, the receiver pushed him away and managed to still run his route and catch the ball.
Here’s what fans had to say on X regarding this blatant missed holding call:
Typical Chiefs bail out

They would never penalize their precious chiefs

38 will likely have a 50k invoice in his locker on Monday. Goodell is a criminal.

@NFLOfficiating must have a lot of money in Vegas on all Eagles Chiefs and Bills games because they sure do help them out a lot. Unless the DB murdered Tyreek at the line there will be no flag

Can’t get those calls ever

Nothing new just the refs glazing the chiefs

I’m not one to say too much about referee’s regardless of the sport. But it seems it is especially inconsistent and bad this season in the NFL. More so than years past. NFL is a multi-billion dollar business. Make them full time refs. Players and fans deserve better.

Fans are indicating that the refereeing is more favorable towards the Chiefs. While the call was so evident, it was still not called and as a result, they cannot help but wonder if the officials have a soft spot for Patrick Mahomes and Co.
