Ric Flair, the legendary wrestler called out ESPN’s Paul Finebaum over his comments on the Michigan Wolverines football program. The analyst in a conversation with former Michigan wideout Desmond Howard was debating Jim Harbaugh’s comments calling the Wolverines as ‘America’s team’ due to them being hated by all and continuing to win games despite the hate they are being subjected to.

Paul Finebaum did not believe the team was worthy of being called ‘America’s team’ and it was not fair to compare them to the 1990s Dallas Cowboys because even though the team is the most talked about in the nation, they also happen to be “the most reviled team in the country.”

Ric Flair thanked Desmond Howard on X for putting Finebaum in his place. He reiterated that Michigan is America’s team despite all the controversies going around.

Thank you Desmond Howard for putting Paul Finebaum in his place! You’re right Michigan is America’s team! And the only person with personal issues is a non-athletic SEC journalist that should leave the great Jim Harbaugh and University of Michigan Football alone.

Flair went on to add that Paul Finebaum had no standing to debate football with Heisman winner Desmond Howard. This was related to Jim Harbaugh’s earlier comments where he hailed the Wolverines as ‘America’s team’ because “America loves a team that beats the odds, beats the adversity, overcomes what the naysayers and critics, so-called experts think. That’s my favorite kind of team.”

While the Wolverines continue to win games, HC Harbaugh will no longer be on the sidelines and is serving a three-game suspension over violations in terms of recruitment. The Michigan Wolverines take on the Ohio State Buckeyes next Saturday. Despite the allegations against the team, their spirits have not hindered and the team continues to view it as them versus the world.
