What happened in Texas is just heartbreaking, and gut-wrenching. An 18-year-old gunman, identified as Salvador Ramos went beyond all limits and opened fire in an elementary school, which in turn resulted in 18 children and 3 adults losing their life.

Salvador Ramos, who killed his own grandmother before executing this atrocious crime, was wearing body armor, and he crashed his car outside the school before going inside, Sgt. Erick Estrada of the Texas Department of Public Safety told CNN. He was reportedly armed with a handgun, an AR-15 semiautomatic rifle, and high-capacity ammunition magazines.

A lot of people across the world were left shellshocked by what transpired as such incidents leave unerasable marks on one’s psyche. Recently, Rich Eisen had a few things to say about the incident on “The Rich Eisen Show.”

Expressing his displeasure with what had transpired, Rich recently claimed, “when I got back home from the Emmy’s, I hugged my kids with both arms, partially because I came back empty handed but I just hugged them tight because of what happened in Texas, and because I could do it, unlike the parents of all the children who were murdered in their classroom by a lunatic who was allowed to have an assault rifle, because he could, because it is legal, because it is easy.

Rich claimed that he was sick to his stomach as the death toll kept growing in Texas. “Many in the business with a microphone have spoken a lot about this and I laud all of them. I just want to add that we cannot give up, we cannot give up as a society,” he said.

Rich added that pressure has to be exerted on the ones who are in authority but do absolutely nothing to prevent such incidents. “Children were murdered in their classrooms and you are already seeing the responses from the ones in power who refuse to do anything about it saying its about anything else but easy access to assault weaponry.”

Rich pointed out that politicians are talking about fatherlessness and doorways being unlocked instead of using common sense and addressing the issue that needs to be addressed. “I don’t care if you got guns in your house people, unless my child comes there and you don’t have it properly stored and locked, then I have a problem.”

He added that he wants to ensure that a proper background check has been done before an 18-year-old lunatic takes his anger out on grandmother and children. “You want to talk about mental health, I am up for that, but why is it never about the easy access to the weaponry? People carry assault rifles to any business, how do I know you are not the next murderer?” he asked.

Rich then went on to claim that people are saying that the ones running the schools are need to be well-equipped and trained to prevent such attacks. “Are you out of your minds?,” he asked claiming that there is a need to talk about the actual issue, the easy availability of weapons, instead of always beating around the bush.
