Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes had a fantastic start to the season. They started their college football season with a bang against the heavily favored TCU. After winning their next two games, the Buffs were the talk of the football world. Sanders took the Buffs’ coaching job in December last year after the team went 1-11 in the 2022 season and has since transformed the program completely.

However, after starting the season 3-0, the team hit their first roadblock of the season against the Oregon Ducks. The Ducks demolished them 42-9, handing Deion his first loss as the Buffs’ head coach. Former NFL player and current analyst with Fox Sports, Richard Sherman, analyzed Sanders’ performance with the Buffs so far on the Undisputed show.

Sherman took a rather weird route to describe Sanders’ impact with the Buffs, bringing in the head coach’s race into the analysis. “The Black community is getting behind him [Sanders] because he speaks for the culture. He is unapologetically himself, all the time, regardless of how it’s criticized. He’s team is the same way, they’re unapologetically confident. They should be. They lost this game this week, that didn’t deter anything.” Sherman said on the show.

Sanders and the Buffs are 3-1 after four games, and even though their last game was against the Ducks, the team is still in good position. They will play the eighth-ranked team in college football this season, USC, on Saturday.
