Earlier this year, the Cincinnati Bengals led by their franchise QB Joe Burrow defeated the Josh Allen-led Buffalo Bills in the AFC Divisional round game. As a result, many people, including the Seattle Seahawks icon Richard Sherman, believe that Burrow has surpassed Allen as the second-best quarterback in the league only behind the Kansas City Chiefs signal-caller Patrick Mahomes.
Immediately after the game, the former Seahawks cornerback jumped on his show ‘The Richard Sherman Podcast’ on The Volume to crown Joe Burrow as the second-best signal caller in the league.
“When you talk about the elite cornerback conversation Burrow needs to be over Josh Allen, every single time,” said Sherman back in January. “Now you can’t put him over Mahomes, Mahomes has been MVP and likely will be MVP this season (2022) but then it’s Burrow.”
As predicted, the Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes ended up winning the Most Valuable Player award for the 2022 regular season. Nonetheless, Sherman also went on to say even if Allen’s stats look similar to his previous campaign, the Bills QB doesn’t have the same control over the game as he did in his previous years.
“Josh Allen’s stats may look similar to last year, but it does not look the same on tape. He did not look comfortable, he was just throwing it into coverage a lot of times and I’m tired of people giving credit where credit is not due,” said Sherman, implying that Allen has deteriorated over the years.
Nonetheless, now Josh Allen and the Bills are once again preparing themselves to compete for the Super Bowl in the upcoming season. If Allen can stay healthy for the entire season, he certainly has the potential to lead his franchise to the big game this season.

Ever since he entered the league as a first-round pick, Josh Allen has shown improvement in his game every year. But last year Allen struggled a bit, especially in the later stages of the season.
Besides, despite his remarkable regular season record, Allen hasn’t even led the Bills to an AFC Championship victory. But now, Allen, who is currently dating the Hollywood actress, Hailee Steinfeld, claims to be entirely focused on football.
Allen, who is entering his sixth year in the league, is long due for an MVP season. The 2-time Pro Bowler would like to win the MVP season soon, but he would ultimately be focused on leading his team to a Super Bowl victory in the near future.
