Back in June of this year, the iconic duo of Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe of the Fox Sports show ‘Undisputed’ decided to part ways. Sharpe reached a buyout deal with the network to leave the show. Following Sharpe’s exit network was struggling to find an apt replacement for Sharpe. However, now they seem to have found one, as reports suggest Richard Sherman is set to replace the former Denver Broncos tight end at Undisputed.
It is not official and Sherman hasn’t signed a contract yet. But according to a report from the renowned NFL reporter Andrew Marchand of The New York Post, the former Seattle Seahawks cornerback has a reached verbal agreement with Fox Network to replace Shannon Sharpe as the verbal sparring partner for Bayless.
The former Seahawks CB is well known for his expressive personality. Even when he was a player, he was a huge hit during interviews. In fact, more than a decade ago, Sherman had an infamous run-in with Bayless on the analyst’s old show First Take on ESPN.
During a heated debate, Sherman told Bayless that he has achieved nothing in his life. To which Bayless rebutted by saying that he had done more in media than Sherman had in football. Now both of them will go at each other on FS1. Additionally, Sherman is also expected to keep his job on Amazon Prime Video’s “Thursday Night Football” studio show.
Furthermore, the network also has an interest in signing analyst Keyshawn Johnson, who recently lost his job at ESPN Network during their mass layoffs. Recently in his podcast, Bayless also revealed that the popular Hip-Hop artist Lil Wayne will also be a part of the debating club and will appear on Fridays.
Richard Sherman had a successful NFL career
The former Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman is one of the greatest cornerbacks in the last decade. He was drafted by the Seattle-based football team in the 5th round of the 2011 NFL Draft.
He went on to have a successful 11-year-long NFL career with three different teams. Sherman played the majority of his career in Seattle and had brief stints with the San Francisco 49ers and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at the back end of his career.
During his remarkable run, Sherman received five Pro Bowl nods and three first-team All-Pro recognitions. Moreover, he also won the Super Bowl with the Seahawks back in 2013.
Shortly after a brief stint with the Buccaneers in the 2021 season, Sherman decided to retire from football and started a career as a sports analyst. Now, he’s set to take his analyst career to the next level by joining hands with Skip Bayless in Undisputed.
