The Seattle Seahawks legend Richard Sherman is one of the best cornerbacks in NFL history. He used to be a dominant force in the defensive backfield for more than a decade with three different teams. Sherman last played in the league in 2021 with the Tom Brady-led Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Following the average outing in 2021, Sherman hung up his boots and announced his retirement from football.

And now, almost two years after his retirement, a new report from Andrew Marchand of the New York Post suggests that Sherman might end up teaming up with Skip Bayless as Shannon Sharpe’s replacement in the Fox Sports 1 show Undisputed. According to the report, Sherman and Bayless met at the Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills a couple of days ago to discuss the potential team up.

The vacant spot created by Sharpe’s exit from Fox Network is a highly-coveted spot, since it is one of the most popular shows in sports media and will come with good pay. Following Shannon Sharpe’s emotional exit from the show back in June, Bayless is reportedly struggling to find a replacement for the 3-time Super Bowl champion.

As a result, Skip Bayless has taken a break from the network. Undisputed will be off-the-air for nearly two months and is scheduled to be back on air in the last week of August, just in time for the NFL season.

As for Sharpe’s replacement, it will likely be a former athlete. The former Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy and the Seahawks icon Sherman are currently the leading candidates to fill the vacant spot. Both of them have played with Tom Brady in the later stages of their career in Tampa Bay.

The 5-time Pro Bowl cornerback Richard Sherman is rumored to be the replacement of Shannon Sharpe in the Skip Bayless show Undisputed. Sherman, however, once blasted Bayless on live tv.

More than a decade ago, when Bayless was still working on ESPN’s First Take and Sherman was playing for the Seahawks, the All-Pro cornerback appeared on the show as a guest. During the episode, Sherman and Bayless had a fiery debate which ended up in personal attacks. Sherman told Bayless that he “has never accomplished anything.”

Bayless clapped back by saying that he has achieved a lot more in media than Sherman had in football. It was one of the most uncomfortable moments in ESPN’s history, but it ended up being good television.
