Rob Gronkowski believes there is ‘too much’ Taylor Swift coverage during NFL games

Rob Gronkowski is all on board the Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce romance train. But he is growing a bit bored with the increased coverage the star couple is getting during matchdays. Ever since the pop icon’s first appearance in Arrowhead to cheer for her beau, the media just can’t get enough of them.
Similar to Rob, earnest football fans who tune in to watch their teams face off on the gridiron have voiced their vexation for weeks now. In a recent episode of Up and Adams with Kay Adams, Gronkowski revealed he too finds the coverage a bit much.
The retired NFL tight end said:
I'll just say, it's just a little bit too much. Maybe [NFL can] have her performance song now since they're hyping her up every single week. [But] we want more football.
Gronk didn’t end his statement there. He pointed out that the NFL shows more Taylor Swift handshaking with Brittany Mahomes than players. Sometimes they even cut the player’s celebrations midway to switch over to what the ‘Cruel Summer’ songstress is doing in the VIP Suite. He further added:
It's fine that you show her, but not every single play, NFL needs to show the players, show the player celebrations.
The 34-year-old may side with the fans on the whole, but the NFL has its own way of running the show. When the news about the apparent frustration first surfaced, the league put out a statement. They defended their actions, claiming Swift attending Kansas City Chiefs games has helped increase the popularity of the sport.
Despite the displeasure, Rob Gronkowski is happy for Travis Kelce
The 2023 season started with a slight hiccup for Travis Kelce. He had to sit out the first game due to a minor leg injury, which the Chiefs lost. From then on, he has started every single game and remained unbeaten.
In the last two games against the Denver Broncos and the Los Angeles Chargers, in particular, he crossed the 100-yard rushing threshold. Not only that, since 2016, Travis has touched the 1000-yard mark every season and already has 525 yards in six NFL matches, carrying the ball an average of 10.9 yards every game.
Rob Gronkowski knows the hard work and persistence it takes to achieve such standards each year. He praised Kelce for the consistency that even a lot of wide receivers fail to accomplish. The three-time Super Bowl winner with the New England Patriots said:
He’s had seven 1,000-yard seasons in a row. [Even] wide receivers have barely seen 1000-yard seasons in a row. He deserves every commercial, and he’s a good-looking man, so he deserves any lady he wants to get.
Taylor Swift first showed up when the Chiefs faced off against the Chicago Bears on matchday 3. The 12-time Grammy winner has been a regular ever since. Not only that, Kelce is yet to lose a game when she is inside the stadium rooting for him.
The host of the ‘New Heights’ podcast’s social media popularity gained a lot of attention after the ‘You Belong With Me’ singer became associated with him. The two were seen leaving Arrowhead after games on multiple occasions.
