“Will beat almost everyone,” Rob Gronkowski dismisses Tom Brady as an OPPONENT in potential MMA fight
Football players are athletics freaks and could almost dominate in any sport. So it should come as no surprise that many footballers have tried their hand at many other sports like Mixed Martial Arts. Greg Hardy, Brock Lesnar, Bob Sapp and Michael Westbrook are a few notable former footballers to have stepped inside an MMA ring.
Former NFL superstar Tight End Rob Gronkowski is another freak athlete who might dominate if he ever decides to try his hand at the sport of MMA. Gronk who has had a stint in the WWE before was asked ahead of his show UFC 278 with The Gronks on ESPN was asked a question about what would happen if he faced some notable footballers in the octagon.
“Aaron Donald and Vince Wilfork a no go,” says Rob Gronkowski on his potential opponents
It’s no secret that Gronk is best friends with the man who helped him win 4 Super Bowl rings Tom Brady, and when asked whether he Gronk could beat the GOAT in an MMA bout he replied-“Yes.” with no doubt in mind.
The same went answer was repeated for former teammates Mike Evans, Julien Edelman and Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf although he did compliment Edelman for his boxing and Metcalf for being a freak athlete.
The only two people Gronk felt could defeat him were Rams Superstar and perennial Pro Bowler Aaron Donald and former Patriot teammate and another defensive great Vince Wilfork.
A Brady vs Gronk would be an exceptional fight to watch. Obviously, Tom Brady would start as an underdog undoubtedly, but remember once upon a time, he was drafted in the 6th round so being an underdog shouldn’t be new to him.
