Rob Gronkowski has advice for Ben ‘Benny’ Brady, son of Tom Brady, who aspires to become a great tight end just like his uncle ‘Gronk’. Why wouldn’t he? The retired player is considered to have been one of the best in his position during his playing days.
Gronkowski racked up 621 receptions, 9,286 yards, and 92 touchdowns in his 11-year career. The 2010 second-round pick won four Super Bowls (three with the New England Patriots and one with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers).
So it’s a safe bet that he knows a thing or two about how to become a great tight end. It’s only natural for Ben to ask for his advice, despite being the son of arguably the greatest quarterback of all time. But that doesn’t matter for Gronkowski, who has played all his life with Tom Brady and now can be a guide for his kid.“Benny, I appreciate that you’re all out, and that’s what you got to be,” Gronkowski said in a recent segment of the Up and Adams Show. “You have to just be fearless. You got to go out there and put your body on the line.”
Then he shared some tips on how to tackle a player and win the ball. “Gotta work hard. You’ve got to run over fools,” he continued. “You have gotta get that attitude going now. Knock fools out when you catch that ball, lower that shoulder, and run them over.”
Rob Gronkowski discussed how the Patriots managed to win so many Super Bowls in such a short amount of time
Winning the Super Bowl is not a simple matter. One must go through the entire season and defeat equal or stronger opponents consistently to reach the championship game. It’s so hard that, to this day, 12 franchises still haven’t won the Lombardi Trophy, and four of them (the Cleveland Browns, Jacksonville Jaguars, Houston Texans, and Detroit Lions) have yet to even appear in the Super Bowl.
But that hasn’t been the problem for the New England Patriots, who have won six rings in an 18-year span. Rob Gronkowski talked about the winning mentality of the New England franchise.
“The culture in New England, which was established in New England from 2000 to 2010, was to win championships and continue to win championships,” the 34-year-old said on FOX. “Guys were taking pay cuts. They weren’t worried about getting paid. They knew the money would come some way, and guys like Jewels [Julian Elderman] and I continued to do that in the next decade from 2010 to 2020.”
Well, that culture needs to reignite once again in Foxborough. Despite Bill Belichick at the helm, the Patriots haven’t been the same since Tom Brady left for Tampa.
