After taking a break from the game, Bill Belichick will return to coaching in the NFL soon, according to former New England Patriots star Rob Gronkowski.

After leading the team for 23 years, the legendary coach departed in January after the team missed the playoffs and he was unable to find employment elsewhere. However, Gronkowski believes he won’t be unemployed for very long.

The 71-year-old led a football dynasty at Foxborough, winning back-to-back titles in 2005 and 2006. He has six Super Bowl rings. However, after meeting with Belichick to discuss his departure, Robert Kraft was persuaded to take a different approach after their dismal 4–13 season.

While Gronkowski, one of Belichick’s most devoted lieutenants, has backed him to return quickly after missing a season of action, there are currently no open spots on the NFL touchline.

I think it's, great he's going to take a year off. He needs it. he deserves it. And I think he's going to come back next year with some vengeance!
Gronkowski told TMZ Sports

It wouldn’t be shocking to see Belichick return with a different team in an attempt to win the elusive seventh Super Bowl ring. He hasn’t won another Super Bowl since Tom Brady‘s departure in 2021.

Furthermore, if postseason games are taken into account, the legendary head coach could become the most successful coach in NFL history in just one season, with just 15 wins remaining.

Tom Brady surprised to see Bill Belichick without a job going into next season

Several people were surprised that Bill Belichick, the legendary head coach, had not been hired as head coach of the NFL, even Tom Brady.

Belichick only had two interviews this cycle, both with the Atlanta Falcons, who opted to hire Raheem Morris for the position.

Belichick, who mutually parted ways with the New England Patriots last month after 24 seasons and six Super Bowl titles, had limited opportunities. Brady was surprised to see his former head coach without a head coaching job going into next season.

I don't know the criteria for hiring coaches. I've never been a part of it. I mean, I'm surprised that the greatest coach ever doesn't have a job, absolutely. But I'm surprised [by] a lot of things in the NFL.
Brady said on his Let’s Go! podcast.

Brady and Belichick won six rings together. They established themselves as one of the best QB-HC duos in league history during their time in New England. However, it will be a tough road ahead for Belichick, as he will have to find himself a job as soon as possible.
