Tua Tagovailoa and the Miami Dolphins are preparing to take on the Dallas Cowboys in their week 16 matchup this weekend. Two ESPN analysts share contradicting opinions about Miami’s star quarterback ahead of the game. ESPN analyst Shannon Sharpe believed Tagovailoa was not a top 3 signal-caller in the league. On the other hand, his colleague and former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III believed the opposite.
During a recent episode of the ESPN show First Take, the former Denver Broncos tight end Shannon Sharpe went on a rant against Tagovailoa and told him to stop acting like a top 3 NFL quarterback. Later, Robert Griffin III took to social media to defend the Dolphins leader from Sharpe’s criticism.

This is what RG III wrote:
Tua Tagovailoa doesn’t have to pretend that he is a top 3 QB in the NFL because he is a Top 3 Quarterback in the NFL right now. With all due respect @ShannonSharpe.Robert Griffin III wrote on X
Sharpe ranted against Tagovailoa after the young quarterback called out his critics following a dominant victory against the struggling New York Jets. The ESPN analyst did not hold back on his remarks.
Most fans took the side of Sharpe in the debate since many seemed to believe that Tagovailoa was not a top 3 quarterback. Even many experts credit Tagovailoa’s success to his number 1 wide receiver, Tyreek Hill, who is having a historic campaign with the Miami-based football team.

The Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has a remarkable campaign with his team in the ongoing NFL season. But people refuse to give him props as they attribute all of his success to the speedy wideout Tyreek Hill.

However, during Wednesday’s press conference, Tagovailoa clarified that he did not care about what critics had to say about his performance as long as his team kept winning. This is what he said:
We're able to win games and we're able to go where we want to go as a team. I am the worst football player if that's what you want. I don't care. I really don't.Tagovailoa said via ESPN
Nonetheless, Tagovailoa would now remain focused on leading his team to a victory against the Cowboys this weekend. They are currently holding a 2-game lead in the AFC East division title race, and they would look to keep it that way in the final phase of the 2023 regular season.
