The saga between Stefon Diggs and the Buffalo Bills continues, with news and rumors slipping out of the dugout from time to time. While it’s still not clear why Diggs is behaving the way he is, analyst Robert Griffin III has some answers.
The Bills were having a good season, and Diggs was looking good alongside Josh Allen. The two shared good camaraderie, according to Robert Griffin. However, they fell out after their loss against the Cincinnati Bengals in the divisional round last season. Since then, it seems there’s been beef between Diggs and Allen.
Robert Griffin touched upon the hot topic on the Rich Eisen Show. “Allen seemed to have a bromance rolling; it felt like for years there until there was a problem with their game against the Bengals in the playoffs,” said Griffin. “So I think it’s clear that this is a personal thing between Josh and Diggs; they have to get the partnership back on the field.”
Griffin believes that both of them should have acted like professionals and sorted everything out by now. He also showed confidence in Allen’s ability to pull the Bills through. According to him, “he’s (Allen) been constantly asked to be Superman, and he can do it. As the year went on, I realized Allen is at his best when he’s trying to be Superman. That’s when we see him most comfortable; that’s when we see all those creative runs and the big time passes.”
The Bills have addressed the situation between Stefon Diggs and Josh Allen by making some smart signings
The Bills will be looking at the immediate future while dealing with Diggs and Allen. While it may seem like they will manage to mend the situation, the 2023 NFL season is coming fast.
It seems the Bills have quickly addressed the situation and found some cover. The 2023 NFL Draft just ended, and they picked up tight end Dalton Kincaid. According to Robert Griffin, with Kincaid on their roster, “they (the Bills) won’t have to line up three wide; they can do two wide and two tight ends, or they can put him (Kincaid) in the backfield.”
The Bills must have realized they need to have backups ready if the situation doesn’t wrap up quickly. However, Griffin believes that “without Stefon Diggs, their receiver room goes from, you know! arguably one of the top 5 to not even in the top 15 receiver lists in the league.”
If the Bills manage to sort out the situation, they will instantly be a dark horse for the Super Bowl.
