The New York Jets are going to be one of the most closely watched teams this season by fans. With their blockbuster signing of Aaron Rodgers this offseason and other key vets at offense and defense, the team has revamped itself and there is a sense of newfound energy in the locker room and on the face of the team’s Head Coach, Robert Saleh.
New York may is considered the place to be in, however, when it came to football, neither the Giants nor the Jets have had much hype around them in the last decade or so. But this season, at least one of the two New York-based teams is bound to attract fans. The Jets will look to end their 12-year playoff appearance drought when the season commences.
A couple of days into training camp and fans are already liking what they are seeing from the new QB. Head Coach Robert Saleh cannot stop smiling now that he has one of the best QBs to ever play in his corner and his latest statement confirms that fans are right to expect big things from Aaron and the Jets this season.
Robert Saleh has complete faith in Aaron Rodgers’ capabilities
Robert Saleh praised his new QB and after watching him at practice stated to NFL on ESPN, “This guy glows in the dark. He’s a pretty damn good quarterback.” Well, no surprise there Coach! He went on to add, “Aaron Rodgers just gets rid of the ball so fast. He’s so fast. After 18 years, he knows exactly where the ball needs to go and how it needs to get there. He has autonomy to change any play he wants. We’re getting a doctorate degree in terms of QB play from him.”
You know how great a player is when you hear the Head Coach of the team heaping praise upon them. It is not just what Rodgers can do on the field that has resulted in an aura of positivity throughout the Jets facility. It is his presence and his mentality that has resulted in players and coaches doing their job to the best of their abilities. He was the missing piece this team needed.
With Garrett Wilson, Allen Lazard, Breece Hall, Mecole Hardman, and Randall Cobb, Aaron Rodgers is sleeping like a baby at night. He has weapons across the board, unlike last year in Green Bay. Not to mention, the Jets’ defense with Sauce Gardner, D.J. Reed, and Bryce Hall, this squad can achieve something special.
