By adding the veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers in the 2023 off-season, the New York Jets have made themselves a top contender for the Super Bowl in the upcoming NFL season. Rodgers hasn’t restructured his contract yet and has two seasons left in his old deal that he signed with the Green Bay Packers. Many people believe the 39-year-old QB will dip from New York after one season but the Jets head coach Robert Saleh believes differently.
“I would be shocked if he didn’t play multiple years,” coach Robert Saleh told reporters at the Jets’ training camp according to ESPN. “I mean, he looks like a little kid out there.” ‘
Saleh further went on to say that Rodgers hasn’t officially committed to the team beyond the 2023 season and the Jets are not pressuring him to make a decision regarding that.
“I don’t want to back him into a corner and make him commit to something like that,” Saleh said. “I just want him to have fun and know that when he walks in this building to let loose and have a little bit of fun, B.S. with the guys, come in the office, come talk to us, and just enjoy playing football.”
Rodgers, who has been fully committed to his new team’s off-season program, has dropped hints at playing multiple seasons for the Jets on several occasions. Most recently, the 10-time Pro Bowl QB said that it would be a “disservice” to just play one year with the New York-based football team, who gave up a lot to acquire him.

Aaron Rodgers will likely play out his contract with the Jets
The NY Jets acquired Aaron Rodgers via a blockbuster trade with the Packers in the 2023 off-season just ahead of the draft. Rodgers has 2 years left on his contract and it seems like he will play it out in New York.
“The Jets gave up a lot for me, so to just play one year would be a disservice,” Rodgers told the “DiPietro & Rothenberg Show” on ESPN New York 98.7 FM on Friday.
Furthermore, immediately after getting traded to the Jets, Rodgers hinted at playing for multiple years with the Jets. And now, he claims as long as his body allows, he will keep competing on the field.
The Jets, who haven’t been to playoffs since 2010, look to add another Lombardi Trophy to their cabinet. They believe the 4-time league MVP Rodgers can lead the young core to a Super Bowl victory shortly.
