“The season was over before Dak got hurt”: Ryan Clark believes the Dallas Cowboys are DONE for the season

The Dallas Cowboys saga of continuing to disappoint continues. The team opened yet another season with a loss as they fell 19-3 to Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. To make matters worse for the team, they also ended up losing their quarterback Dak Prescott to a thumb injury. Dak is likely going to be out for nearly 6 to 8 weeks now which means Cooper Rush will be the starting quarterback moving forward. Despite Dak being in the game early on, the team failed to convert on any touchdown passes.

Ezekiel Elliott did not have a good game either as he ended up 52 yards and no touchdown drives. The team’s offense looked like it was all over the place as the receivers failed to separate on time and ended up barely catching most of the passes thrown their way. CeeDee Lamb who is supposed to stand out and prove that he is the top WR on that team ended up catching only two throws and did not score either. All in all, it was a travesty for America’s team.

“We knew they would struggle”: Ryan Clark is not surprised with the Dallas Cowboys’ terrible performance in Week 1.

ESPN analyst and former Steelers Safety Ryan Clark seemed to not be surprised by the team’s terrible performance. He expected the Cowboys to be this bad and make all the mistakes that they have continued to make. Here’s what Ryan Clark had to say on the Cowboys’ season opener against Tampa Bay.

“The season was over before Dak Prescott got hurt. One of my kid’s favorite movie is ‘Cat in a Hat, and the cat in a hat ruins this dress and this girl is like, ‘You ruined mom’s dress,’ and he was like ‘It was ruined when she bought it, honey,” that’s exactly that was going on with the Cowboys. There was a little semblance of a run game with there couldn’t get separation in the pass game, CeeDee Lamb didn’t look like a number 1 receiver and that run defense was porous. Other than Micah Parsons making some plays and Trevon Diggs being who he was, you didn’t see a lot of this from this team that gave you life if you were the Dallas Cowboys, we knew they would struggle with some things coming into the season and I felt that everything that we felt they will struggle with offensively, they struggled with last night,” Clark concludes.

For him, he expected Dallas to falter all along and though Dak Prescott’s injury was unfortunate, the team was unable to come together and click as a unit. The offense may have improved slightly in the run department but the receiver corp has deteriorated and is unable to separate properly. In addition to this, the Cowboys committed 10 penalties, Ryan Clark had this to say on that subject, “That’s who they are.”

The Cowboys have a rough season ahead of them, with the Philadelphia Eagles coming for them and the New York Giants also not looking that bad of a team following Week 1 they really have to unite and come together if they wish to even win over 5 games if not make the playoffs.
