Entering the game with solid numbers of 66.9 completion percentage for 1,210 yards, 11 touchdowns, and two interceptions, the Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson had a surprisingly bizarre outing at Thursday’s Night Football game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

The 9-time Pro Bowler had one of his most disastrous performances in Week 6, which led to the citation of his 2014 Super Bowl championship. Many NFL analysts have criticized Wilson for his bizarre performance last season. While speaking on the matter, one NFL analyst even dragged Wilson’s wife Ciara into the conversation.

During a conversation on ESPN’s Get Up, NFL analyst Ryan Clark stated, “Last night Russell Wilson had a little league quarterback stat line and if his wife was there, she would say you do need to level up. I want to see you play like a boy.” He further added, “It’s not just about the turnovers. It’s about Russell Wilson not being able to create explosive play. He’s not using his legs to get outside the pocket and give his core of wide receivers second chance opportunities.”

Against the Chiefs, the quarterback finished with 13 completions out of 22 attempts for 95 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions, yielding a passing rate of 46.6 and an abysmal 10.1 QBR. Wilson had his third-lowest career passing yards and worst performance this season, throughout the six games.

The Broncos’ offense failed to seize its given opportunities as there was a chance when Wilson threw a touchdown pass to Courtland Sutton, leading to a firm two-point conversion by Javonte Williams. However, the Chiefs cut off the sequence between 16-8, and the Broncos couldn’t recover back.

Ryan Clark was earlier called out by the Black community for criticizing Russell Wilson

This isn’t the first time that the NFL analyst Clark has criticized Wilson’s performance. In 2022, Clark said, “Russell Wilson isn’t an all-time great football player.” After this statement, he received great backlash from the Black community online, for taking down a Black man at a high position.

Wilson has been approached by many NFL teams, such as the Washington Commanders and the New Orleans Saints, for his record of winning the Super Bowl in 2014 and being a 9-time pro bowler.

However, the ESPN Clark thinks otherwise. After facing the backlash, he clarified that his comment on Wilson not being the greatest quarterback of all time wasn’t ‘c*onery‘ or with the intent to ‘bring down a Black man.’ He said it’s his job to analyze their performances, and he doesn’t agree that Wilson is worth being approached by many NFL teams.
