NFL analyst Ryan Clark makes a STUNNING revelation about Lamar Jackson’s contract offer from Baltimore Ravens
Lamar Jackson received a mediocre contract renewal offer from the Baltimore Ravens this season.
The Lamar Jackson-Baltimore Ravens relationship has turned into a bittersweet one over the past season. The 26-year-old is looking for a new contract and the franchise has refused to budge from its position.
The quarterback made it absolutely clear that he wanted a new contract ahead of this season. However, his wishes did not come true and he has played out the final year of his rookie contract.
As he nears heading into free agency, a shocking detail has come to light regarding the contract offered to him by the Ravens. According to former NFL player and current analyst Ryan Clark, a source recently revealed that the Ravens offered him 113 million dollars in guaranteed pay, before increasing the offer to 133 million. Ryan Clark’s net worth is $16 million.
Lamar Jackson suffered a knee injury and missed the final weeks of the season
The money wasn’t enough for Jackson apparently, and he blatantly rejected it. Given the current quarterback market in the NFL, it is no shock that he rejected such an offer, as his compatriots earn a lot more than him.
The most recent offer from the Cleveland Browns for controversial quarterback Deshaun Watson was a whopping 230 million dollars in guaranteed pay. This was despite the fact that he had numerous sexual harassment allegations against him.
As of now, applying the franchise tag seems to be the best of options available to the Ravens, as multiple efforts from both parties have not resulted in a solution. Jackson also sent a clear and evident message to his franchise most recently through his Instagram account.
“When you have something good,” Jackson posted on his Instagram story, “you don’t play with it. You don’t take chances losing it. You don’t neglect it. When you have something good, you pour into it. You appreciate it. Because when you take care of something good, that good thing takes care of you too.”
Arguably one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, he has had a difficult season this year as he suffered a knee injury during their Week 13 clash against the Denver Broncos. He failed to recover from it in time and, as a result, missed out on the playoffs.
