Miami Dolphins‘ quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has had injury problems since being drafted in the NFL. He hasn’t had a fully healthy season yet and there seem to be a lot of questions surrounding his health. Tagovailoa had a rough outing in the Dolphins’ second preseason game against the Houston Texans. He threw an interception on the first play of the game which was returned for a touchdown by the Texans’ defense.

Former NFL player and current ESPN analyst Ryan Clark had a rather weird take on Tua’s performance. On a recent segment of NFL Live, Clark accused Tagovailoa of not putting in the effort in the gym and suggested that he spends more time getting tattoos than working out. “Let me tell you what he wasn’t doing: He wasn’t in the gym, I’ll bet you that” Clark said on the show. He further continued and body shamed the QB saying that he looks ‘thick’ and is ‘built like a girl working at Onyx ‘(a strip club in Atlanta).

Clark said, “He is thick. He’s built like the girls working at Onyx right now.” Naturally, this statement caused an uproar on social media as fans slammed the analyst for body-shaming the quarterback and asked for Clark’s suspension. Tua completed 5 of his 7 pass attempts for 61 yards and threw a pick 6.

Clark has had some controversial opinions in recent times. His recent opinion of George Pickens being more talented than Justin Jefferson was heavily criticized on social media. The Dolphins have shown faith in Tagovailoa and with weapons such as the WR duo Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, the Dolphins are one of the dark horses for a deep playoff run. Tua’s health will decide how far this team will go this season. They begin their campaign against the Los Angeles Chargers on September 10.

The Miami Dolphins are a good team. They have some deadly weapons, a projected top-10 defense, an offensive-minded coach and a solid quarterback in Tua Tagovailoa. The Dolphins will be expected to make the playoffs. It is up to the QB Tagovailoa to carry them deep into the January. Tua had a good 2022 season and will hope to carry that form into this season.

Tagovailoa was drafted fifth overall in the 2020 NFL Draft by the Dolphins. Since being drafted, Tagovailoa has struggled with injuries and concussions. He had injury problems in his college days as well. He had his best season last year but played only 13 games. He will be hoping to play a full season this year.

Tagovailoa played in Dolphins’ second preseason game where he threw a pick 6 on his first play. That is a mistake Dolphins fans would not want see. They play their next and final preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars before opening the season against the Los Angeles Chargers on 10th September.
