The Cincinnati Bengals have faced their biggest setback this season. Franchise quarterback Joe Burrow has been ruled out for the rest of the season after he tore a ligament in his throwing wrist. The injury came when Burrow threw to Joe Mixon against the Baltimore Ravens and was seen grabbing his wrist and wincing in pain immediately after.

ESPN’s Ryan Clark is of the opinion that Burrow’s injury is not just detrimental to the Bengals but is a boon for all their opponents.

It's over if he misses significant time. This is a team that had to go on a run.

The Bengals got off to a slow start early on in the season as they were 0-2, however; they were getting their rhythm back slowly until Burrow got injured.

Clark went on to add,

Many people feel he is the second-best quarterback in the world. He is what drives this offense, he is what controls the pace for the entire team.

The analyst cites the importance of Joe Burrow for the Bengals offense to be able to play at their best.

The Cincinnati Bengals do not stand a chance to make the playoffs without Joe Burrow

Ryan Clark effectively went on to state that the team stands no chance of winning without Burrow as the QB.

You can cancel Christmas, you can cancel Thanksgiving as well.

The analyst believes that Joe Burrow is too good of a player to be replaced or even be substituted.

He means a lot to the Bengals offense. Without him, the team losing him is equivalent to losing an arm. The team is bound to be handicapped without him. It will not be surprising that opposition teams will take advantage of Joe Burrow’s injury.

This team has dug too deep of a hole to not have Joe Burrow present.

The Bengals are already at a disadvantage as the team had to go on a run for the rest of the season in order to make the playoffs. Currently, the team is sitting at the bottom of the AFC North with a 5-5 record. With Browns’ QB Deshaun Watson out for the season, the Bengals could have easily moved up the table and even beat the Steelers. However, with Joe Burrow out, all of it just seems impossible.
