On Thursday, the New York Jets went against the Cleveland Browns in their week 17 game. Ahead of the clash, the former NFL quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick couldn’t help but take shots at the injured Jets signal-caller Aaron Rodgers with some vaccine jokes.

Ahead of the game, Ryan Fitzpatrick — who is currently working as an analyst with Amazon Prime — took a chance to interview the Jets’ former All-Pro QB and turned it into a funny segment.

Hey Aaron, Ryan Fitzpatrick, class of 2005. How are you? Twice Vaccinated
said Fitzpatrick

As soon as Fitzpatrick made the joke, Rodgers couldn’t hold back his grin and just laughed it off. This joke is a nod to Rodgers’ recent rant during his Tuesday appearance on The Pat McAfee Show. In short, Rodgers basically said that whoever criticized him in his handling of the injury should show their vaccination status.

I think what we should do, Pat, is, the same people who were criticizing me or coming up with these conspiracies about my injury or whatever, before they talk, let’s go back to 2021 and let’s make people say their vax status to start.
Rodgers said on The Pat McAfee Show

Fitzpatrick made a joke about Rodgers’ rant which even drew a smile from the veteran quarterback. Nonetheless, Rodgers went on to talk for nearly 8 minutes with Prime Video and discussed the chances of his return to the field. At one stage in the interview, Rodgers said his return story would’ve been different if the Jets were still contending for the playoffs spot.

On the sporting side of things, the Jets suffered a brutal loss against the Browns on Thursday. The Browns sealed their playoff spot with that victory and are still in contention for the No.1 seed in the AFC playoff picture.

2024 won’t be last year in the league for Aaron Rodgers

When Aaron Rodgers signed with the New York Jets in the 2023 off-season, most people assumed he would play with the Jets for 2 seasons before announcing his retirement.

But his first season with the Jets didn’t go as planned as he suffered a season-ending Achilles injury in New York’s season opener against the Buffalo Bills.

And now, the 40-year-old quarterback has already announced that he would look to play beyond the 2024 season in the NFL. Tom Brady played in the league till he was 45 years old. Maybe Rodgers can replicate the same longevity.
