A fight broke out in the stands of Levi’s Stadium during the San Francisco 49ers vs. New York Giants match yesterday. A group of unruly 49ers supporters locked horns as the Bayside franchise recorded their third straight win.
A video of the incident was shared on X (formerly Twitter). It showed what went down. In the initial parts of the clip, a trio of 49ers fans were captured going at each other. A man wearing a black 49ers jacket scuffled with a woman wearing black pants and a red 49ers shirt. Another woman wearing the No. 97 jersey could be seen entering the fray.
The situation escalated when a man wearing a No. 54 jersey and baseball cap barged in. In the meantime, the aforesaid women were tugging at each other’s hair. Next, a fifth man wearing a Richard Sherman 49ers jersey grabbed the woman in the black pants and pulled her with force down a few rows. Moments later, the same woman pulled another woman’s hair wearing a white shirt, and her wig came off.
But the brawl did not end there. The man wearing the Sherman jersey came back for round two. He started kicking a man wearing a black 49ers jacket who tried to protect the woman by wearing a white shirt. Fortunately, security reached the zone, and the video ends.
Social Media condemns San Francisco 49ers fans’ constant bad behavior during matchdays
Fan skirmishes are nothing new in the NFL. Last week, fans fought during the Washington Commanders vs. Denver Broncos game. But these fringe skirmishes paint a negative picture of the game of football.
It has become a recurring theme for 49ers fans to go a bit overboard during matchday. That’s why social media wasn’t pleased with the group of supporters and called them out for constantly stirring up trouble.
There has been some sad fan-related news over the past few game weeks. Miami Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill called out the New England Patriots fans for screaming racial slurs at him. Moreover, a fan died at the Gillette Stadium after another person punched him in the chest.
The 49ers fans were at it during the preseason as well. During their match against the Broncos, a violent skirmish broke out, leaving one of the victims with a bloody mouth. There hasn’t been any statement regarding the recent brawl from the 49ers front office.
