“F–k Everybody,” Saquon Barkley exudes confidence as makes a resounding statement on his comeback to the NFL post tragic ACL injury

Saquon Barkley

Saquon Barkley when healthy is one of the most productive running backs in the league but injuries have kept him sidelined for too long. In his absence, many started questioning Barkley and the Giants’ decision to draft him with the 2nd pick of the 2018 NFL draft. Barkley’s career after his explosive rookie season has been injury plagued.

Over the last few seasons, Barkley has missed quite a lot of games due to multiple injuries ranging from a torn ACL to a rolled ankle Barkley had it all. Critics’ have been not been kind to Barkley or the Giants over this stretch.

Some of it is quite fair as since the ACL tear suffered in 2020 Saquon Barkley hasn’t been the same player he once was but as the Giants enter a pivotal year which is done or die for Quarterback Daniel Jones, it might be the same for Barkley who wasn’t signed to a massive extension as he once would have got. The Giants have exercised the 5th year option to keep Barkley in the Big Apple. Barkley acknowledges the critics and is gearing up to answer them.

Barkley in a recent appearance on the 2nd wind podcast did not seem happy with heat directed his way- “Last year was more like, ‘Dang, the game was taken away from me.’ I never had a season where I didn’t go and play football. Now, it’s a kill mindset. Now it’s like, you know what? F—k everybody. I’m ready to go crazy.

When asked about his assessment of his health Barkley added-“Do I feel like I’m back? I feel like I’m better, to be completely honest. I’m older now, I’m 25. I’ve been through some stuff, ups and downs. Now I’m in a situation where, you know me, I always have the mindset of always being counted out. But now it’s actually here, it’s actually real. People are really counting me out. People are trying to write me off.

If Barkley’s body holds up then his motivation to perform may just propel the Giants above what they have been doing recently and Barkley’s presence alone would take a lot of pressure off Daniel Jones’ shoulder.
