Aaron Rodgers is widely considered one of the best quarterbacks in the history of the NFL. There are only about 10-15 players who are as gifted at throwing the football as Rodgers. His arm talent has won him a lot of accolades and records which are damn near impossible to break.
The 39-year-old was recruited into the league by the Green Bay Packers in the 2005 NFL draft. Rodgers spent the first three years on the bench being backup to another Packers legend Brett Favre. Finally, after three years he got the starting job, and the rest, as they say, is history. From winning the Super Bowl to back-to-back MVPs, fans have seen him do everything.
However, after 18 years with the Packers, looks like his time has come to an end. During the NFL Combine a few days back, GM Brian Gutekunst said Jordan Love is ready to lead the team. Another indication that Green Bay is ready to move on from Rodgers is that they gave him the go-ahead to have trade talks with the New York Jets.

Sauce Gardner is trying his best to persuade Aaron Rodgers

The Jets are going all in to try to persuade Aaron Rodgers to join their team because they are confident he can win them a Super Bowl. Their Plan A, Derek Carr, joined the Saints, so now they have to acquire Rodgers at any cost. Their second overall pick, Zach Wilson, isn’t ready just yet to get them all the way to the Super Bowl and was benched toward the end of the 2022 season because of his erratic plays.
Moreover, the majority of the Jets are already trying to recruit the 4x NFL MVP to their team. A few days back, cornerback Sauce Gardner tweeted that he would burn the Packers’ cheesehead if Rodgers comes to New York. And Gardner stayed true to his word. As an offering to the football gods, the 2022 Defensive Rookie of the Year actually burned the cheesehead he took from Lambeau Field when the Jets defeated the Packers in Week 6.
Sauce Gardner had running back Brecee Hall and 2022 Offensive Rookie of the Year Garrett Wilson alongside as he made the “sacrifice” to get Aaron Rodgers to New York. “This is me talking now,” Gardner said in the video. “I need you to come here so we can win a Super Bowl.” It was almost a three-minute-long video where the trio was talking about how the team would look with Rodgers under center and boy, did they paint a beautiful picture!
Aaron Rodgers can talk with any team he likes, but in the end, if he wants to stay back in Green Bay, neither the Jets nor the Packers can do anything about it. It’s all dependent on what the veteran quarterback thinks about which place gives him the best chance of writing a perfect ending to his legacy in the NFL. Let’s see if Gardner’s sacrifice pays off or not!
