It’s no secret that Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald is a beast during match days. Geno Smith found that out the hard way on Sunday.

The Seattle Seahawks were mild favorites to take anything from the game. They performed well in the first half and went into halftime with a 13-7 lead. But everything fell apart in the second. They lost two starters. Charles Cross and Abe Lucas sustained injuries, but they did not look in sync on the field to begin with.

Geno Smith had to play the rest of the game with Stone Forsythe and Jake Curhan at tackle. It did not go so well for the veteran signal-caller, who ended the day with 16/26 for 112 yards and a touchdown.

But amidst all the seriousness, NFL fans discovered a comical altercation between Aaron Donald and Smith. In the second quarter, at the 4-and-a-half-minute mark, Smith lined up for a snap on third down. As play resumed, Donald sneaked in and battered the Seattle player, forcing him to throw an incomplete pass. However, upon closer inspection, Geno Smith could be heard screaming “Oh my god” in shock, seeing the 6-foot-1,280-pounder charging at him.

The Seahawks were leading 10 to 7 at this point and were looking rather comfortable. The defenders were reading plays well, and Smith was able to complete a few quick passes until this happened. It seems he did not recover from the jump scare.

Rams Matthew Stafford capped off a fine showing on the day. He threw for over 300 yards even without Cooper Kupp on the team. Stafford’s primary targets for the day were rookie Puka Nacua and third-year receiver Tutu Atwell. Combined, the duo gained 119 yards from the veteran quarterback’s pass.

The second half was all about the Rams. At one point, they had outgained the Seahawks 250-3. A team that was supposed to continue their horrible 2022 run this year also seemed to have silenced their critics with last night’s dominating performance.

Both sides now have to focus on their next games. The Seahawks will travel to Detroit to face the Lions, whereas the Rams welcome a strong San Francisco 49ers team to LA.
