The Denver Broncos regular season continues to head further and further into a downward spiral. The team has won just one game this season as opposed to their 5 losses.

This season continues to be disappointing for Broncos fans who had become optimistic following the appointment of former New Orleans Saints HC Sean Payton. The hope was that Payton would fix Russell Wilson and the Broncos. However, while Russell Wilson appears to be fixed, the Broncos defense remains broken.

Sean Payton may be reconsidering his decision to coach the Broncos as he was doing pretty well as an analyst. A recent video of the Head Coach of the Broncos predicting the potential of Caleb Williams on The Herd has surfaced. “It’s healthy when we in scouting like to say, ‘Well, who does he remind you of?’ We’re not putting that pressure on Caleb saying, ‘You’re going to be the next one.’ …I think he is a generational player,” Payton stated.

Sean Payton believes Caleb Williams is a generational talent

Sean Payton believes that Caleb Williams being compared to stars in the NFL and other young quarterbacks is a good thing. This means that the scouts see the immense potential that lies in the player. The former Saints HC was convinced that Caleb Williams is a generational talent after watching the quarterback play for 3 to 4 games.

Sean Payton views Caleb Williams to be the type of player who will cause teams across the league to purposely tank in order to be able to get better odds at drafting him.“At the end of the season, here you are in Week 14. Clubs begin to lose to put themselves in a better position…” Payton thinks that Williams is a player who will act as a catalyst in convincing the NFL to switch to the lottery system in the run-up to the draft.

Caleb Williams has led USC to win all 6 games so far this season. He has thrown for 1,822 yards, has 22 touchdowns, 1 interception, and a QBR of 86. His impact on the field is evident and he is the reason that USC has one of the best offensive in college football.

Sean Payton may have foreseen what the future holds for Caleb Williams but he failed to foresee the disaster of a season that his team, the Denver Broncos would be having 6 weeks into the season. The season appears to be over for the team as they have just not been able to fight and connect on plays. The defense has been underwhelming as well, nevertheless, it remains to be seen what the rest of the season holds for the Broncos.
