The Denver Broncos are yet to win a home game this season. They have played three games at home and have lost all three. Their only win at Empower Fields at Mile High came in the preseason when they dismantled the Los Angeles Rams, 41-0. The Broncos are struggling this season as they only have one win in six games. Their next game is against the Green Bay Packers in Denver and HC Sean Payton would love a win at Broncos’ home ground.

Payton revealed that he had a message to his team that “it’s time” they end their streak of not winning a home game this season. Their latest game in Denver was a 10-point loss to the New York Jets in week 5. Payton talked on Friday about the team’s record at home and his message to the team.

Sean Payton told the reporters:

FS Video
I just told them I am tired of sitting at the podium and talking to you guys about not playing well at home. Yeah, it’s time. We have a good home-field [advantage]. We have a great tradition at home, crowd noise, and all those things that can help us. We need to take advantage of it.

He further continued by saying:

Now, this crew that’s officiating this weekend — of 17, they are second in fouls called at the line of scrimmage. I could go on and on. We have to be smart at the line of scrimmage and take advantage of the noise.

The Broncos are 1-5 through six weeks of the season and are in trouble. They need to win as many games as possible to have a sniff of the postseason. They will have to start winning at home and Payton will hope that the team does that on Sunday against the Packers.

Sean Payton ‘not discouraged’ by 1-5 start to the season

Sean Payton and the Denver Broncos came into the 2023 NFL season with high expectations. They were expected to at least make the postseason after bringing in the veteran coach. However, they have started with a record of 1-5 through six weeks and are nowhere near the playoff picture. Payton though, is ‘not discouraged’ by the poor start.

Here is what Payton had to say after the team’s loss against the Kansas City Chiefs:

I told our players I was disappointed [with the loss]. But honestly … I’m not discouraged. I thought they played hard.

The Broncos will play their next game against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. The Packers are 2-3 through six weeks and are coming off a bye week. The Broncos will hope to win that game and look to turn their season around as soon as possible.
