Week 1 of the 2023 NFL regular season is over and it had some crazy moments. But the biggest story of week 1 is the Aaron Rodgers‘ injury. The New York Jets quarterback suffered a torn Achilles, which is expected to keep him on the sidelines for the remainder of the ongoing season. In Rodgers’ absence, the Jets are expected to roll with Zach Wilson as their starting QB for the rest of the season. But experts believe the Jets should be looking for veteran QBs in the market.

Amidst this situation, ESPN personality Shannon Sharpe believes the Jets should sign the New England Patriots icon Tom Brady to replace the injured Aaron Rodgers.

“I’m calling Tom Brady. Seriously, I am going to put a call into Tom Brady,” Sharpe said in a recent episode of the ESPN show First Take. “All these other guys, I understand that. (Carson) Wentz is available and Nick Foles is available and maybe you can get Matt Ryan to come up out of the booth, CBS. I’m calling Tom. Tom, seriously, we got 25 mill on the table for you. Can you come give us something?”

However, Shannon Sharpe acknowledged that it would be very hard even for the seven-time Super Bowl Champion Brady to just come in and play at a high level without off-season preparations. “Tom works best when it’s his system, he’s never played in this system before,” said Sharpe. But since there are not a lot of good options available at the moment, Sharpe suggests it wouldn’t hurt for the Jets to give a call to Brady.

Aaron Rodgers suffered the injury during the first quarter of the Jets’ week 1 game against the Buffalo Bills. He only played 4 snaps in the game before suffering the season-ending injury.

The NY Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers suffered a season-ending leg injury in the first quarter of the game. Rodgers is devastated because of his unfortunate injury according to Pat McAfee.

During a recent episode of the ESPN show First Take, McAfee claimed that Rodgers was in the best shape in a long time before the injury, and he is devastated like the rest of the Jets fans.

Despite the season-ending Achilles injury, Rodgers will stay with the team and mentor Zach Wilson, who is expected to replace the veteran as the starting signal-caller of the New York-based football team.

Wilson and the Jets will now be focused on defeating the Dallas Cowboys, who they are scheduled to face in week 2 of the 2023 regular season. The former second-overall pick is looking to prove himself in the league in the absence of the 10-time Pro Bowl QB.
