The NFL analysts are assigned to pass their remarks on to the players. Sometimes their remarks go well with the fans, however, at some points, those remarks bounce back on them. The second happened with Shannon Sharpe after his notorious take on Brock Purdy. His remark has not gone well with the fans and the latter trolled him brutally on social media for underestimating Purdy.
In a recent Twitter thread, the former player and veteran analyst Sharpe took a dig at Purdy as he said that the QB would not go third overall with the measurements that he carries. In the next line, he attributed the credit to John Lynch for making a good roster and making things work for the San Francisco 49ers and Purdy, who has been great since the beginning of the season.
“Purdy with his measurables wouldn’t go 3rd overall. 2 things can be true. Lynch has built an incredible roster and he missed terribly with Lance. Keep up the gr8 wrk, phew,” Sharpe said on X.
This is Sharpe’s second dig at Purdy. The first one came a few days back when Sharpe from his show, ‘First Take,’ claimed that Purdy is not an elite quarterback. He hinted that Purdy has a good team that is bearing fruit. Sharpe is okay with Burdy’s name coming in the MVP discussion but not with comparing him with the likes of Patrick Mahomes. From the sets, the veteran analyst said that Mahomes and Purdy are two different characters.
