Shannon Sharpe is DISGUSTED by Tom Brady's performance
This season has been a weird one. The teams and players that have conventionally been good and consistent are playing football on the level of high schoolers, while some teams that have been trash for the last couple of years have gotten their act together and are playing better than ever.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are one such concerning team. Despite Tom Brady, they have not been able to get anything right.
Tom Brady has a QBR of 52.0, is completing just 67.2% of his passes, and has had 8 touchdowns through 6 games. For the first time in his career, we may have to consider the possibility that Father Time has finally caught up to Tom Brady. His head may not entirely be in the right space either due to his personal issues, but you cannot keep excusing his disappointing performances over and over.
“He’s been TERRIBLE”: Shannon Sharpe does not shy away from calling Tom Brady out.
Undisputed host Shannon Sharpe criticized Tom Brady for his lackluster play this season. He took objection to Brady yelling at his offensive linemen on the sidelines and blaming them when in reality; he was also just as bad in the team’s loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
“Brady was awful. He’s been awful all year long. A lot of people are afraid to say it because they don’t want to upset Tom Brady. He’s been terrible, with his lowest QBR since QBR has been in existence(2006), his lowest touchdown pass through six games, lowest yards per attempt. He’s AWFUL. He flew separate, he missed Saturday’s walkthrough, he missed 11 days in training camp, and he doesn’t practice on Wednesday, but he is quick to holler team, team, team.”
Shannon points out the irony in Tom Brady’s behavior as he claims to do what is best for the team, but his actions this season have been far from that of a team player.
Speaking on the quarterback yelling at his offensive line, here’s what Shannon had to say. “Every time I turn around, he’s in somebody’s face on the sideline. If I’m an offensive lineman, I’m going to say, ‘You playing like stir fry your damn self.’ You see ghosts that are not there. How many times did he miss Chris Godwin when he was wide open? How many times did he bounce into the tight end? How many times did he overshoot the running back? But you don’t want to talk about that because you’re afraid to upset Tom Brady’s feelings.”
Shannon goes on to add, “He’s 45 years of age and he’s dealing with something publicly that he’s never had to deal with before. That’s what’s up with Tom Brady. Every time I turn around he’s telling ‘God, you’re so much better than what you’re playing.’ Are you any better than what you playing? He’s been terrible this year.”
Despite having all of his wideouts with the exception of Julio Jones, Tom Brady was unable to close the game out against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The GOAT struggled to put up 18 points against one of the worst teams in the NFL. Mike Evans, who has been his go-to wideout, got only 4 targets in that game, which made no sense either.
