There seems to be trouble in paradise for Shannon Sharpe and Skip Bayless over the latter’s insensitive tweet regarding Bills safety Damar Hamlin’s unfortunate injury. Shannon took a leave of absence following Hamlin’s injury and returned to get into a heated argument with Skip.
Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin suffered one of the most tragic injuries in the history of the sport. After tackling Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins, he fell to the ground and got back up only to succumb to the ground conscious. He was administered CPR on the field and rushed to the UC Medical Center for further treatment.
While the rest of the world was sending in their prayers for the young athlete, Skip Bayless wrote one of the most sickening tweets that read: “No doubt the NFL is considering postponing the rest of this game. But how? This late in the season, a game of this magnitude is crucial to the regular-season outcome … which suddenly seems so irrelevant.” He attracted the ire of the whole league and was reprimanded for his insensitive words.
Shannon Sharpe is frustrated with Skip Bayless
Shannon Sharpe, Hall of Fame tight end did agree with the reactions of the fans regarding Skip Bayless as he didn’t appear for the show the following morning. Skip noted his co-host’s absence on Undisputed and said, “Obviously, my partner, Shannon Sharpe, is not here today. I look forward to seeing him tomorrow.”
Shannon returned the next day with no intention of getting into an argument with Skip but just the opposite happened. Sharpe said during his opening statement, “Skip tweeted something and although I disagree with the tweet — and hopefully, Skip will take it down…” At this point, Skip interrupted Sharpe and curtly said, “Time out – I’m not going to take it down because I stand by what I tweeted.”
This angered Shannon to the point where he just wanted to move on from the conversation and not turn the whole thing into a full-blown fight. “I cannot even get through a monologue without you interrupting,” Shannon added. He further said that he joined him on the show with no intention of bringing with his tweet but Skip couldn’t even let him finish his monologue.
Skip Bayless did try to give an explanation for his tweet but the fans were having it and they continue to chastise the analyst.
By the looks of it, seems like Shannon Sharpe might leave Undisputed once his contract is up. He seemed as if he has given up trying to talk some sense into Skip Bayless.
