“The NFL is NOT happy”: Shannon Sharpe believes Aaron Rodgers will be getting a call from the Commissioner for consuming psychedelics

Shannon Sharpe and Aaron Rodgers

Aaron Rodgers is definitely one of the most bizarre athletes in the entire NFL. The quarterback ends up finding himself in controversies that nobody saw coming. Despite Rogers being one of the most talented quarterbacks in the NFL, he is also viewed as an outspoken person, some would go as far as to say that he has become a ‘hippie,’ following his latest comments.

Rodgers recently went on the Aubrey Marcus Podcast where amongst other things he touched on an extremely interesting topic when he stated that he went to South America and underwent the whole ayahuasca experience. Ayahuasca is a plant that contains DMT which is a hallucinogenic drug that gives an effect similar to that of LSD and magic mushrooms.

“I’m sure the commissioner is going to reach out”: Shannon Sharpe does not think Aaron Rodgers’ latest confession is a good look for the NFL

Aaron Rodgers true secret to winning the MVP is going through an Ayahuasca experience

Rodgers claimed that ingesting ayahuasca and putting himself through that whole experience helped him “see how to unconditionally love” himself. “It’s only in that unconditional self-love, that then I’m able to unconditionally love others. And what better way to work on my mental health than to have an experience like that?” The quarterback went as far as to credit his achievements of the last two seasons to the drug.

He believes that due to this experience, he was able to form better bonds with all of his teammates and connect better with them. However, this confession may not sit well with Roger Goodell and the NFL high command. NFL Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe and Fox Sports analyst believes that the quarterback could very soon be getting a call from Goodell for his admitted use of psychedelics earlier this week.

“I’m sure the NFL is probably going to give him a call and say, ‘That’s not a good look’.’ I don’t know if the NFL is too happy about him taking hallucinogenics, I’m sure the commissioner is going to reach out and have a conversation with him. It seems weird to me but whatever helps a person become a better person and find his inner self, I’m cool with it,” Sharpe concludes.

The analyst told TMZ that he personally has no issue with Aaron consuming psychedelics though he does think it is bizarre. Rodgers is not the first athlete to confess that he underwent an Ayahuasca trip. He credited his last two MVP seasons to the enlightenment that the drug gave him. Mike Tyson, arguably one of the greatest boxers has also confessed to the benefits that Ayahuasca has. The drug reportedly changes a person’s thought process and it has different effects on different individuals. Rodgers has been living life lately, getting a new significant other in his life, a brand new tattoo, and being open about his experiences.
