Shohei Ohtani has hogged the limelight in the world of sports after the MLB player signed the biggest contract in the history of team sports with the Los Angeles Dodgers worth $700 million over a 10-year period. Since he is a part of the Dodgers franchise now, it came as no surprise that he was in attendance for the Los Angeles Rams game last week against the New Orleans Saints.
Ohtani did not just attend the game but he made sure to show his support to one particular player on the Rams roster. The latest addition to the Dodgers was repping Puka Nacua, the rookie wide receiver who has made waves in the league over his impressive debut in the league.
Shohei Ohtani made sure he let the entire building know that he was a fan of Puka Nacua. When the cameras focused on him and he was featured on the big screen, Ohtani, who was wearing a jacket over the jersey made sure to remove the jacket and proudly point out to his jersey number 17.
Puka Nacua was at a loss for words when he saw Shohei Ohtani rocking his jersey
While this was happening, Puka Nacua was sitting on the sidelines and observing the big screen. He could not help but smile and say “That’s dope!” after he saw Shohei Ohtani rocking his jersey. The fifth-rounder has really impressed all with his performance this season. The wideout said after the game:
It put a big smile on my face, seeing him rock the 17.
He has had 96 receptions this season and has accumulated 1,327 yards while scoring 5 touchdowns. He is close to breaking the record for most yards by a rookie wideout set by Bill Groman in 1960 with 1,473 yards. With just 2 more games to go, he has a very good chance of breaking this record.

His performance has made him one of the frontrunners in the race to win Offensive Rookie of the Year. He is battling it out against C.J. Stroud, the quarterback for the Houston Texans who has put up impressive numbers and has managed to sneak into the conversation to win the MVP as well. The Los Angeles Rams could not have hoped for a better return from their fifth-rounder as Puka Nacua is going to be a star in this league.
