Deion Sanders kicked off his tenure with the Colorado Buffaloes with a 45-42 win over the last-year national runner-up, TCU. However, there was major doubt about how the Buffs would perform this college football year. It existed partly due to the massive overhaul in the offseason. Nevertheless, he had the full support of analyst Skip Bayless.
The veteran sports presenter is a vocal admirer of the Pro Football Hall of Famer. Deion Sanders, who played for the Cowboys during his haydays, catalyzed their run to the Super Bowl (1995). Hence, it’s no surprise that Bayless would be by the side of the former DB.
Skip Bayless told Keyshawn Johnson during one segment of FOX Sports Undisputed about not betting against some unique individuals. “I never bet against Tom Brady. I don’t bet against Deion Sanders.”
It was make or break for Sanders on Saturday, as he needed to back up his talk of creating a strong Colorado side. He brought in more than 50 hand-picked players, including several from his former team, the Jackson State Tigers. A record-breaking 500-yard passing game led by his son, Shedeur Sanders, silenced the critics for now. However, Bayless had faith that the new regime would get off to a good start.
Skip Bayless will be rooting for Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes this year
It’s only the beginning of the football season, and the tension will remain the same every week. While the Buffalos may have won their first game, that doesn’t guarantee they will continue on the same trajectory throughout the season. Nevertheless, it’s a platform to build upon with some excellent performances to boost confidence.
Bayless praised Sanders for choosing a bigger project that came with a bigger target on his back. He continued, “To be on FOX at Big Noon, this is prime time in the daytime to me, and it’s because of him. I’m his biggest fan.”
Lil’ Wayne agreed with Skip Bayless. Wayne also anticipated similar things from Deion Sanders’ new Buffaloe side. He expressed his continued support to Sanders and his new team. Wayne also believed that the team remained in good hands. Next are the Nebraska Cornhuskers for the Buffaloes on September 9. They lost to the Minnesota Golden Gophers in their first match.
