Skip Bayless has a formidable opinion on who is going to win this year’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) award. He has taken a bold stance by claiming that Lamar Jackson deserves his second MVP after the glorious performance against the Miami Dolphins. In one of the episodes of his show, Undisputed, the veteran analyst gave all his flowers to the Ravens quarterback.

Bayless had the following to say on UNDISPUTED:

If we look at the last three weeks if you look at how he took over and controlled the game at Jacksonville in which I thought they were legit; they won 23-7 at Jacksonville. They obviously won the 49ers, they just destroyed them on their turf, and the last thing that happened yesterday against Miami... It was like Lamar was playing in a shootout and he put up shootout numbers for his team that Tua was unable to match.

This is not the first time Bayless has advocated for Lamar Jackson as the MVP. It started much earlier. Ahead of the season, the veteran analyst had a wild take that Jackson would become the MVP winner and the Ravens would play the Super Bowl (SB). He also noted that Jackson would have a major comeback from the nightmares he suffered in the last season.

Injury remained a major concern for Jackson and he suffered a lot due to that. Even, in this season, Jackson had a slow start. He was unable to match the pace of the other quarterbacks. Nonetheless, with each game passing, the QB picked up his form and in the past three weeks he has been phenomenal.

Lamar Jackson is presently leading the quarterbacks chart for the MVP

With the monumental performance against the Miami Dolphins, the quarterback is leading the chart among his peers. According to Betters, Jackson has overtaken Dak Prescott after the game and is presently the favorite to win the MVP.

This year’s MVP has witnessed heavy competition among six players. Dak Prescott, Brock Purdy, Lamar Jackson, Tua Tagovailoa, Tyreek Hill and Christian McCaffrey. The NFL season has almost come to an end and the competition seems increasing. Prescott is the leading touchdown holder while Jackson has contributed more to the team’s performance. Both Purdy and McCaffrey also have done a lot for their team.

It is to be seen who finally ends up getting the MVP award after the postseason.
