Aaron Rodgers is inching closer and closer toward doing the impossible. The quarterback for the New York Jets attended the Week 9 matchup of between his team and the Los Angeles Chargers. While the Jets ended up losing the game 6-27, the highlight of the night was Rodgers, revealing his anticipated date of return to Derwin James.
The duo linked and ran into one another on the field and James asked him about when he intends to return. “Just a few weeks” was Rodgers’ response. Skip Bayless of Undisputed on FS1 called the quarterback out for hogging the attention and shifting the focus onto himself rather than letting it remain on his team.
The analyst had this to say,
Aaron Rodgers needs attention more than the Jets need hope...it's his ego-mania on full display.Bayless on FS1’s Undisputed
He believes that Rodgers knew exactly what he was doing when he told Derwin James that he would be back within a few weeks. It was a Monday Night Football game and moreover, there were mics all over the place and cameras focusing on him when he gave this response. Skip is certain that his answer was pre-planned.

Aaron Rodgers’ recovery post-surgery has been nothing short of remarkable
Skip Bayless continues,
It is so dangerous, you are daring that Achilles devil out there...
He was addressing the fact that an injury of this degree requires an extended period of rest and rehab. Aaron Rodgers is already out walking without crutches and throwing the football before the Jets’ games.
He cites the record for the earliest return from an Achilles injury, which is 6 months, however; it has been just 2 months since Aaron Rodgers had his surgery and he is doing everything to get back out there. While one can understand his anticipation to return, there is a very big risk associated with fast-forwarding the recovery time in this manner. If the same leg gets injured again, it could potentially end his career.
The tendon, it cannot be healed yet...it's still hanging on by literal threads and if you take one false step on your drop back, it is going to go again.
The analyst is concerned about the quarterback, as he is taking a big risk, and for what? The New York Jets stand 3rd in the AFC East with a 4-4 record. The team may at most win another 3 games this season, it is doubtful that Rodgers will come back within 3 weeks and with the team moving farther and farther away from playoff contention, it really does not make sense for him to return this season.
