The Dallas Cowboys are scheduled to end their regular season with a Sunday Night Football game against the Washington Commanders at FEDEX Field. The 11-5 team has locked up the second seed in the NFC East and soon enough, the team will embark upon the most crucial stretch of the season, the playoffs. While most fans are anticipating how America’s team will fare in the postseason, FOX Sports analyst Skip Bayless is more concerned about the team’s performance this weekend against the Commanders.

Skip Bayless stated via Undisputed on FS1,

I'm more afraid of this game than even the two playoff home games that we would potentially play because it comes down to ...Mike McCarthy and Dak Prescott.

The analyst is shaky about his team’s odds heading into Sunday night’s matchup because of McCarthy’s coaching history.

Mike McCarthy has had a history coaching the Dallas Cowboys of his teams coming out completely and utterly flat for huge games...we just don't show up at kickoff. This is the one where you better show up or you will get into quick trouble.

Skip Bayless believes the matchup against the Commanders is a must-win game for the Cowboys

The analyst stated that if the Cowboys do not come out swinging then they will be in deep trouble. Washington and Dallas have a one-sided rivalry. The former team’s fanbase despises the Cowboys and will show up on Sunday night hoping that their team will do everything to prevent America’s team from reigning victorious.

Bayless stated:

They hate Dallas, no franchise, no fandom hates a team more than Washington hates Dallas...this would save what is left of their season.

The Commanders fanbase would view a win against the Cowboys as nothing short of a victory. The analyst took a jibe at Mike McCarthy as he described the HC as a “bump on the sideline log” because he does not show emotion and does not motivate players.

It will be up to Dak Prescott on the offense and DeMarcus Lawrence or Micah Parsons on the defense to motivate the team in the locker room and get the team pumped up to go out there and beat the Commanders. While winning or losing this game will not have any impact on the Cowboys season, it will act as a morale booster if they win this matchup. The last thing any team would want is to lose to a team such as the Commanders before heading into the playoffs.
