LeBron James is on his way to becoming the all-time best NBA player ever, and there are still people who doubt his ability. The Lakers player has been a revelation for the sport and has almost chased down every record held by his predecessors.
However, some people doubted his abilities and did not believe in him. Skip Bayless has always been critical of James and once compared the all-time NBA great with former Browns QB Johnny Manziel.
Manziel won the Heisman trophy in college and was trusted with lots of expectations. The former QB was drafted by the Browns as the 22nd overall pick and Skip Bayless was very excited by the news.
The ‘Undisputed’ host couldn’t contain his excitement and made a comparison that would haunt him for many years to come. Bayless stated that Manziel will be way more famous and influential than LeBron James in Cleveland Ohio.
Bayless also stated that Manziel will change the sport and Cleveland will be known by his name and not some NBA legend who was born in Akron, Ohio.

Bayless was brutally roasted on social media for his statement, as he couldn’t be more wrong. LeBron James is not just famous in Cleveland Ohio, but the whole world. On the other hand, Johnny Manziel was released by the Browns after just 2 seasons.
LeBron James has created a legacy in the NBA that will last for many years to come. However, Johnny Manziel failed to create such charm. Manziel was drafted in 2014 and was released in 2016. The QB had a miserable record as a starter for the Browns and posted a 2-6 record.
However, Skip Bayless accepted his mistakes later down the line and stated that Manziel focused more on partying instead of playing in the NFL. On the other hand, LeBron is breaking records in each game he is playing and is slowly closing in towards the NBA GOAT title.
Skip has given some highly controversial takes in his career. However, this one seems to be the most bizarre and unusual. No one would have believed Skip when he compared Manziel with the great James.
