“It’s a NO BRAINER”: Skip Bayless agrees with Madden NFL 23’s simulation of the Dallas Cowboys becoming NFC Champions

The Dallas Cowboys have yet another season filled with hype but this time, the team is not the favorite to win the NFC East because there is another team that stands in their way, the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles have considerably revamped their roster this offseason and made valuable additions to both the offense and defense, however, this has not stopped Cowboys fans from being their usual selves and predicting their team will end up coming out on top of that division and making the playoffs.

Fox Sports analyst Skip Bayless is arguably one of the biggest Dallas Cowboys fans ever, on one hand, his loyalty towards the franchise is worthy of appreciation considering the team does nothing but disappoint fans on a yearly basis while on the other hand, he does seem to be delusional at times with certain ridiculous takes such as this one. EA Sports Madden NFL 2023 simulated the entire season on the game and here is what happened.

“They’re going to go 12-5”: Skip Bayless predicts the Dallas Cowboys’ regular season record will be enough to get them into the playoffs.

The popular football game simulated the upcoming season and in the NFC East, the Dallas Cowboys ended their season with a record of 12 wins and 5 losses which is just enough to get them into contention for playoffs. Though it is a game, this may be the closest thing to a simulation we have as of now. “After I read this Madden simulation, I lost my brain, it is a no-brainer. I have already predicted my Cowboys are going to go 12-5 which is exactly what Madden simulates, they are going to go 12-5 and that is good enough for the No.1 seed in the NFC. I’m good with that, I’m great with the simulation,” Skip agrees with the simulation and believes that is how America’s team will fare this season.

Speaking on his quarterback, Dak Prescott, Bayless had this to say, “I cannot defend the way he has fallen on his face (during) the 2019 season when he bet on himself against Jerry Jones and lost during the season but won at the negotiating table, it was home not so sweet home for me, it was a collapse, it was an embarrassment, that team set the franchise record for a playoff game in penalties and they opened the preseason by committing 22 penalties in the first preseason game.” He is referring to the season Prescott got injured and had to be carted off the field, that was a red letter day in the history of the Cowboys franchise, and that season was virtually lost from that point forward. The Cowboys have had a lot of issues with penalties as the team has been setting records for all the wrong reasons.

Skip is still hopeful about his team and believes that this year will be different, with Dak back in form and Ezekiel Elliott in the best shape of his life, the Cowboys have a real shot at making the playoffs, “I like this simulation, it rang true to me, I’m starting to love what I see and feel from my Dallas Cowboys. Dak is positioned to have a great year, healthy as he’s ever been, at the heart of his prime, going into year 7, at age 29, I believe they had a pretty great year last year when they led the league in yards, they tied for the lead in turnover ratio. Why can’t they take it to another level this year?” Bayless concludes.

The Cowboys do seem to have a good roster this season, but the question is the same as it has always been, can they live up to the hype and sort their issues out with respect to the turnovers and clock management? Mike McCarthy has been far from the HC that the team needs, Dak is the leader of that team and the only person who the offense can rally around. Irrespective of this, it will be interesting to see how the team fares this season.
