Skip Bayless lashed out at Jerry Jones for his remark on the Dallas Cowboys’ star quarterback Dak Prescott. A day ago, Jones stated that Dak is the best quarterback he has ever seen in his tenure at the Cowboys. He attributed it to Dak’s leadership skills and ranked him over legendary Cowboys players like Troy Aikman and Tony Romo

“We’ve had (Troy) Aikman, and Tony (Romo) and they were both good leaders. But Dak is so sound in his psyche, and he relies on his preparation better than anybody I’ve ever been around,” he said in his weekly radio appearance on 105.3 The Fan

His comments attracted a lot of criticism from the analysts. Richard Sherman criticized him for glorifying Prescott and giving unnecessary credit to Dak. Skip Bayless also hammered Jones and said that the 80-year-old billionaire offended the likes of Aikman and Tony.

“The best quarterback in the history of this franchise was the guy you brought up was Roger Staubach. I know him very well. I watched him very closely. He is one of the greatest leaders in the history of sports. He was more of a quiet leader, he rubbed people the wrong way in a good way. It was difficult because he was so demanding. But in his own way, he was a powerful leader,” he said.

The veteran analyst also added that Jerry Jones understands that this is a quarterback’s game and hence he wants to make Prescott feel good. He then raised questions over Prescott’s inconsistency and his failure at the crucial moments. He also said that Micah Parson is slowly coming out as a leader in defense.

The Cowboys will thrive in desperation

This year, the Dallas Cowboys will go all the way to win the Super Bowl. They are in desperation to end their more than 28-year trophy drought. They traded Trey Lance from the 49ers as a developing QB and a possible backup for Dak.

In the first game, the Cowboys won against the Giants by a margin of 40-0. It was a solid defensive performance for them. They had the Giants’ numbers, making them fail to score a single point. If morning shows the day rings true then the Cowboys have all the possibilities to have a decent season.

Even the Las Vegas oddsmakers are setting high hopes for the Cowboys this season. They’ve set the bar at 10.5 wins, and Dallas is currently the second-favorite to win the NFC East with +190 odds, meaning a $100 bet could net you $190 if they come out on top.
