Dan Quinn, the former Dallas Cowboys DC recently left for the Washington Commanders as the head coach. Quinn had quite an impact during his time at the Cowboys. He created a good defense with the likes of Trevon Diggs and Micah Parsons. Now, after his departure, a lot of questions have arisen, with the primary one being – ‘Who will be the next Cowboys DC?’
It looks like Skip Bayless has the answer. The veteran analyst believes that it has to be AI Harris, the former defensive back who earlier had a short stint at the ‘America’s team. Bayless, whose love for the Cowboys is no secret to NFL enthusiasts, clearly said that Harris would provide the impetus if he gets the opportunity.
Bayless said on UNDISPUTED:
My guts tell me that AL Harris could do this job with players lit up to him and playing for him. He has already earned the respect through hours of practice. When I see him and I see him a lot on the sidelines, I like his body language.Skip Bayless said
Bayless also stated that the former CB adds a lot of energy on the gridiron as he straight runs to the players and talks to them. His energy generation is a key factor for Bayless to believe in him.
Well, Bayless is not the only one who wants him to become the DC. The Dallas Cowboys players have also asked for him.
Trevon Diggs wants Al Harris to become the DC
Ahead of Skip Bayless, Trevon Diggs, the Cowboys’ cornerback wanted Al Harris to handle the responsibility of the Cowboys. Diggs got his guidance earlier as well.
Diggs got his first Pro Bowl after getting guidance from the former star. Hence, he holds some amount of gratitude towards Harris.
Speaking to the reporters recently, Trevon Diggs said:
Al Harris basically taught me everything I know as far as playing corner in the NFL, the technique, just how to read the quarterback…He knows exactly what's going on out there. So taking information from him, picking his brain every day has helped me out a lot.Trevon Diggs said
It is to be seen whether Jerry Jones hands him a contract to lead the Cowboys in the next season.
